Join us on October 27th for Session 6:
Sustainability in the Developing World with Ashok Khosla
Session 6 of The Sustainability Laboratory's inaugural conversation series, Exploring the Sustainability Challenge, is now just two weeks away! This upcoming session, Sustainability in the Developing World with Ashok Khosla, will take place on Wednesday, October 27th, at 12:30 p.m. EDT. Register today if you haven't already!

Ashok Khosla, a world-renowned environmentalist and sustainable development expert, will be in conversation with Michael Ben-Eli, founder of The Sustainability Laboratory. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience. If you are unfamiliar with Ashok Khosla and his work, please enjoy learning about some of his many notable achievements:
  • Ashok Khosla is widely viewed as one of the world’s great environmental thinkers and innovators.
  • He is responsible for introducing many environmental issues relevant to India and the Global South to the international community.
  • He was the Founding Director of the first Office of Environmental Planning and Coordination in India (also the first national environmental agency in the Global South), and was the first Director of INFOterra, the United Nations Environment Programme's global information system.
  • He is the Founder and President of Development Alternatives, a research and action organization striving to deliver socially equitable, environmentally sound and economically scalable development outcomes.
  • He served as the founding co-chair of the United Nations Environment Programme's International Resource Panel (UNEP-IRP) from 2007 to 2018.
  • He was the President of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Club of Rome, and has served on the Boards of several global environmental organizations, including the International Institute of Sustainable Development and the World Conservation Union, and as an advisor to the United Nations Development Programme, the World Bank, and India’s Ministries of the Environment, Science and Technology and Rural Development, among many others.
  • Ashok Khosla received the UN Sasakawa Environment Prize, and numerous other awards and accolades.

Exploring the Sustainability Challenge is the inaugural conversation series of The Sustainability Laboratory. Each event features a lively conversation between Michael Ben-Eli and a thought leader, discussing an urgent sustainability issue facing the planet. This free series takes place once a month over Zoom, and will continue throughout the remainder of 2021.
