When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be." All are welcome to join and copies of the book are available for Portsmouth Library cardholders to borrow (here).

EMAIL/RALLY

Support Local Trans Youth: Take action today!

from TransActionNH.org:
Earlier this year, a bill (HB198) was filed in New Hampshire to prohibit trans girls from participation in interscholastic athletics at NH public schools.

There was an overwhelming showing against this unnecessary & harmful piece of legislation, including hours testimony from medical professionals, coaches, athletes, and families (read more here).

However, rather than vote the bill down, the House Education committee chose to retain the bill for further work.

There is no fixing a bill that blatantly discriminates against women’s bodies and inevitably subjects women — trans and cisgender alike — to invasive sex verification practices.

TAKE ACTION:

1) Email the NH House Education committee (HouseEducationCommittee@leg.state.nh.us) and let them know you want to see HB198 deemed “Inexpedient To Legislate”

2) Join us on Thursday, 10/14 outside of the Legislative Office Building (directions here) in Concord for a visibility in support of trans and gender non-conforming youth. Visibility runs from 8:30-9:30am.
