Newsletter: October 15th, 2021

Thank you again to everyone for such a warm welcome! Here are a few more updates and reminders as we begin closing up for the winter.

Operations for October

After Friday October 15th, the park office will be closed until the spring. For administrative assistance or general inquiries, please email us at info@woodcrestresort.ca or call our main office at (905) 642-1700.

Until then, the Colton family will be in the park office to give you an opportunity to settle your account, including the final hydro bill they will be issuing. If you have any existing credits, deposits, or balances, you absolutely must collect it from them during this time as it will not be moved forward to your new account with us. 

Being that the office will be closed, there is no need to sign in at the office when you come and go from the park.

Park Map & Site Numbers

Some of you may have seen us walking the park grounds as we work on mapping the sites and roadways. We just wanted to give a warning that we will be renumbering the sites throughout the park.

We will be sending out a new map in the next week or two, as well as new invoices for everyone with their new site number and street address. We will go into more detail about this later, but one of the most notable reasons for doing this is to make it easier for emergency vehicles and maintenance services to be able to find your site. We know this is a drastic change and will need some adjustment, but it will all make better sense once we are done!
 

Winter Access Dates

The park will be open on the following days for walk in access only. There will be no power, water, or washrooms open. Access is from 9 AM to 5 PM on the following dates:
  • November 20th and 21st
  • December 11th and 12th
  • January 15th and 16th
  • February 12th and 13th
  • March 5th and 6th
  • April 9th and 10th
The purpose of the access dates is to satisfy the requirements of some insurance companies that insist clients have the opportunity to check on their unit every 30 days that it is unoccupied. No one is permitted to stay overnight on these weekends.

We understand that in the past, you may have been able to freely come and go from your trailer during the off-season, however there is absolutely no access to the park or your trailer outside of the dates listed above.
 

Storage

This winter, we will be busy with construction and we would hate to see anything get damaged. Also, we will need extra space, so we are not offering winter storage of boats and boat trailers in our parking lot. If you have a boat/trailer you wish to store for the winter, please contact Gerard about the possibility of storing it with him at their sales lot in town. Otherwise, please have these items cleared out by October 31st. Thanks!
 

Updates on the Dock Project!

We are excited to announce that the material for the new main docks are ordered! Check out the renderings below of the layout, as well as a sample of what these modular-style docks look like. This type is easy to clean and will be long lasting and far safer than the existing docks. In the rendering pictures below, the sections marked in yellow will be 6' wide while the sections in grey will be 4' wide. We will be installing four of these sections. We feel as though this size and layout will be very comfortable to use and we look forward to seeing it installed.

Clarifications


Pump out charge:
There has been some confusion as to the pump out charge and we would like to set the record straight. The Friday/Monday pump outs are still included in your season fee. The pump out charge is only for additional pump outs outside of those regularly scheduled ones. Reminder that there are no pump outs on weekends and the final pump outs will be the week of October 12th.

Hydro bills: 
Your final hydro bill will be read and billed by the Colton family. If you have a hydro deposit with them, be sure that is collected as no deposits or credits are being transferred over to us. We will be documenting a starting hydro reading for each site once we take over and your first hydro bill with us will not be issued until next summer.

Reminders

Services & Access:
We will be shutting off the water in the park on October 12th and the final pumps out will be done that week. Please plan accordingly. Per your 2021 contract, the park will be open for access until October 31st 2021.

Winterizing: 
We do not offer winterizing services, so we recommend that you hire a registered RV technician to perform this for you. We have been made aware that Gerard is available for winterizing, so you can arrange this with him privately if you wish!

Projects


Pending expansion:
It is no secret that Woodcrest Resort already has approval to put in an extension with more sites. We do plan to begin work on this in the near future, starting with some tree work this fall. We will be working on clearing out trees in October. It is the best time for us to work on this as the park is less occupied and we want to do our best to disturb as few people as possible. We have planned for work to begin after Thanksgiving so there is minimal disruption to everyone. If you are around the park after Thanksgiving, please stay clear of equipment.

Going forward:
We will continue to keep everyone updated as we prioritize projects. Our aim is to be transparent and open about these changes. The goal is to be the least bit disruptive to your enjoyment and use of the park as we can.
