Dear Kensington member businesses,

The City of Calgary is launching the Calgary REP Business Support Grant, funded through the Calgary COVID Business Support Program. Applications for this grant will be accepted beginning October 12, 2021.

The Calgary REP Business Support Grant will provide $2000 to eligible businesses – as defined under Bylaw 65M2021 (the Vaccine Passport Bylaw) – to help defray the costs of implementing the Restrictions Exemption Program.

While the Province announced a similar program last week, we understand that it will not be available until sometime in November. The Calgary REP Business Support Grant will provide much needed relief several weeks prior to that. With the funding that is available in the Calgary COVID Business Support Program, we anticipate being able to help more than 2500 local businesses cover costs such as additional labour, rapid test kits, or electronic devices for implementing the anticipated provincial QR code program. Applications will be accepted until November 30, 2021 or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

The application form and Terms & Conditions for this City of Calgary financial help, as well as an extensive FAQ, can be found at www.calgary.ca/businessgrant.
