God Willing, we will gather for Vespers & Compline this Saturday, at 5PM & celebration of Holy Qurbana on Sunday, October 17th. Matins (Morning Prayer) will begin at 8:30AM followed by the Divine Liturgy. 
 
Intentions/people you wish to have prayed for during the Holy Qurbana this Sunday can be submitted here by 12PM on Saturday, October 16th.

On Thursday, October 14, 2021, the Malankara Syrian Christian Association of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, gathered on the sacred grounds of Parumala, Kerala, India to elect a new Primate of the Holy Church.
 
Under the presidentship of the Senior Metropolitan of the Church, His Grace, Kuriakose Mar Clemis, the largest ecclesiastical parliament in the world, formally elected His Grace, Metropolitan Dr. Mathews Mar Severios as the 9th Catholicos of the East, and 22nd Malankara Metropolitan. The Holy Episcopal Synod has formally ratified the election of Metropolitan Severios.
 
His Beatitude, Dr. Mathews Mar Severios, 72, serves as the ruling Metropolitan of the Diocese of Kandanad West. His Beatitude succeeds His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, who fell asleep in the Lord this past July.
 
The Holy Synod will formally enthrone the Catholicos Designate on Friday, October 15th at Sts. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, in Parumala beginning with Matins at 630AM, followed by Divine Liturgy and the Rite of Enthronement. May our Lord preserve the newly elected Primate of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church! May God grant all wisdom, and discernment to shepherd the Church of God!

With faith in Christ and in hope of the resurrection, we share the sad news, Mrs. Bessie Mathew, a member of our sister parish, St. Luke the Evangelist Orthodox Mission, Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, October 11th. 

The following is the schedule for the Wake & Funeral services of Bessie Mathew.  All services, unless otherwise indicated, will be held at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania located at 1009 Unruh Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111

 
Friday, October 15, 2021
6:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Public Viewing & 3rd Service of the Funeral Rite
 
Saturday, October 16, 2021
9:30 AM – 11:30 AM:  Public Viewing and Final Service of the Funeral Rite
12PM - Interment at Forest Hills Cemetery, located at 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & SERVICE 
Did you know approximately 300,000 people suffer from hunger right here on Long Island? 40% of these are children! In order to battle this epidemic our Church has established a food pantry in partnership with Mary Brennan Inn.  Every Sunday (and all other days we meet), we will be collecting non-perishable food items. 

MOST currently needed Non-Perishable Food items:
Canned items: meats, tuna, peanut butter, stews, pasta, vegetables, fruit, juices, beans, gravy, chili, jelly (no glass) Teabags, coffee ground, hot and cold cereals, rice, cake mixes, pancake mix, syrup, powdered milk, juice boxes, spam, sugar, baby food (glass is ok), baby formula, and granola/cereal bars.
