Life After Lockdown

As we continue transitioning back to a somewhat normal life in New South Wales, many people may find the readjustment back to “normal” life overwhelming. 

Exiting lockdown after several months can lead to a range of feelings, from excitement and relief to stress and worry.

While it may seem counter-intuitive to feel anxious about returning to past freedoms and ways of life, it’s natural for such a major change to be stressful.

For Year 12 Students...
Now that it is confirmed that HSC exams will go ahead from 9 November 2021, we have shared some useful strategies to prepare and overcome exam-related stress in our latest blog post.

Our kind and nurturing team are available to support students entering Year 12 and younger who may also need some assistance navigating their upcoming studies and transition back to face-to-face learning.

Insight Meditation Timer
Insight Timer is an app and website designed to help make meditation and yoga convenient, easy, and pleasant to do.

Meditation and yoga are practices that unite mind and body to focus attention in order to calm racing thoughts, reduce stress, and improve mental and physical health and well-being.
Recommended by our wonderful psychologist Anne-Marie Paiement this month's book recommendation is written by Sonia Lupien, a leading authority in the field of Stress. Nevertheless, she is extremely down-to-earth and is excellent at explaining in simple and funny concepts what is going on when you are under stress.

Through her research, she was able to identify which situations stress people out, and how to deconstruct your stress using a very simple tool, the "What is driving you N.U.T.S ?" exercise, which Anne-Marie herself uses all the time:

Transitioning back to Face-to-Face Appointments 
As we slowly make our way out of lockdown, our psychologists are slowly transitioning back to a mixture of telehealth and face-to-face appointments.
