EMMANUEL VACCINE CLINIC COURTESY GIANT PHARMACY - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24TH

Emmanuel, in partnership with Giant Foods, is hosting our second annual Vaccine Clinic on Sunday, October 24 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The clinic will be held in our lower parking lot, and will be moved inside to the Fellowship Hall if the weather is inclement. Masks will be required and social distancing is encouraged.

The following vaccines will be available: Flu, Pfizer Covid-19, Pfizer Covid-19 Booster, Shingles, Pneumonia, Tetanus

Also, we need volunteers to help set up, greet, and clean up. You can sign up to help for an hour or the whole clinic by clicking here.

Many doctors recommend getting a maximum of two vaccines at the same time, one in each arm, in case of reactions.

Most insurance plans are accepted, with the exception of regular Kaiser.

Walk-ins are welcome, but we would prefer that you to sign up for an approximate time and which vaccine(s) you would like, so we are sure that enough of each vaccine will be available. You can sign up by clicking here.

You can access and download forms for the vaccine clinic by visiting Emmanuel's website: www.eumclaurel.org/clinic

Questions? Contact Becky at office@eumclaurel.org or call her cell, listed in the Church Directory.

ALL SAINTS DAY PICTURES REQUESTED!

On October 31st, the Sunday before All Saints Day (Monday, Nov. 1) we want to honor our loved ones who have died in the past year with a montage of photos.

Please send a clear, JPEG photo of your loved one (along with their name, your name, your relationship, and the date of their death) to Becky at office@eumclaurel.org.

The person honored does not need to be from EUMC -- but connected through you to our EUMC family. It is especially important, since we can't be together in our normal ways right now to be sharing our grief and loss with one another.

It is our tradition to also celebrate new life on All Saints Day, so we will end our photo montage with pictures of babies born to EUMC members and friends.  Please send a JPEG photo of a new baby born to you or someone you love (along with their name, your name, your relationships, and the date of their birth) to Becky at office@eumclaurel.org.

The photos need to be emailed to Becky by October 25th so we have plenty of time to get the presentation ready. Thank you!

EMMANUEL BLOOD DRIVE - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 18TH

Thanks to all those who donated blood at our most recent drive on September 28.  Thanks to the stellar efforts of Carolyn Taylor, who managed the drive for Emmanuel, the drive was another success.  The Red Cross collected 28 units of lifesaving blood. This could help save the lives of 84 individuals.  Donors can check on the progress of their donations through the Rapid Pass app.

Our next blood drive is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.  To schedule a donation:
1. Go to https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results... or
2. Go to RedCrossBlood.org and enter Sponsor Code: Emmanuel UMC.

Please contact Chris Bryant at 240-460-8536 with any questions.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED AT HOCO PRIDE!

Our presence at Howard County Pride was a success! But it was only possible because of numerous Emmanuel volunteers. Thank you to everyone who helped out! In case you missed it, here's a "Letter to God" that someone who came by the tent wrote:

Dear God,

This is what religion should be.  Love everyone and let everyone be happy.  I feel like everyone is so worried about politics or being outspoken in their beliefs, but this is what happiness and God should be.  Let everyone be happy and be supportive of that.  If everyone saw the loving and accepting side of Christianity, I feel like everyone’s life would be a little better.

THANK YOU FROM LITTLE FLOWERS ECDC!
Did you know that Emmanuel's Outreach Committee gave Little Flowers Early Childhood & Development Center $10,300 earlier this year support the Summer Camp program? Emmanuel is proud to be a sponsor of and partner with Little Flowers ECDC. You can read their thank you letter to Emmanuel here.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING BRIDGES' CHILI CHALLENGE!

While we didn't win the golden ladle, we still were able to contribute to helping end homelessness in Howard County. Thank you to everyone who donated!
