Members of the Dix Hills Jewish Center and Beth Torah Synagogue on tour of our gallery exhibit, 'Immigrants of Northport and East Northport'.  Our Museum Educator, Ceylan Swenson (far right), also gave the group a walking tour of the Main Street Business district.

Stamp Your Passport Event Series

Come by the museum to pick up your own passport, and bring it with you to get stamped at all our events this year in support of our Immigrants of Northport & East Northport exhibit.

Kicking off our first passport event:
Germany

 

After time away, we are bringing back our "Taste of Northport"
in celebration of Oktoberfest on October 28th at Pumpernickels at 6pm

~Hear about the history of Pumpernickels and surrounding area from the owner, Artie Glad~

$ 60 for members | $ 75 non-members

In our 'Stamp Your Passport' Event series:

GREECE ~

 
The Beloved Northport Sweet Shop has been around since 1929.  It was founded by Greek immigrant, George Panarites.

   Register to hear the very interesting history, as well as the famous clientele that visited the shop that we all know and love from the current owner, Pete Panarites.   There will also be a special live music performance from the Northport High School Chamber Orchestra.

This special event will be held at our museum gallery at 215 Main Street on Sunday, November 14th at 1pm.

You can enjoy the music of the band, Harper Lovey and the Waitlist, on our front lawn and the sketches of local artist, Jennifer Salta, inside our gallery as part of this year's Artwalk.
