Managing food allergies while making sure your child gets the nutrients they need can feel like a balancing act sometimes, especially when your child has a milk allergy.

A nutritional supplement, like Else Plant-Based Complete Nutrition drink mixes*, can help you give your child a balanced diet while managing food allergies. Else Nutrition’s products are made without milk and soy and are sustainably sourced.

The Challenges With Alternative Milk

While there are many milk-free alternatives for toddlers and kids available, there aren’t many that offer sufficient calories, fat, calcium, vitamin D, and protein, plus a host of other nutrients and vitamins not found in cow’s milk. You can’t rely on them for adequate total nutrition.

If you’re aware of the challenges with these alternatives, you’ll be better able to supplement your child’s diet. Here are some of the challenges with many alternative milks:

Lack necessary nutrients
While you can find “milk” from soy, nuts, grains, hemp, and peas, these milk alternatives may not have the same amount of calcium or vitamin D as cow’s milk, unless these nutrients are added during the manufacturing process.

Contain a lot of sugar
Many plant-based milk alternatives can be loaded with added sugar. Research suggests that giving added sugar to children early on may have adverse health effects later in life, lead to poor eating habits, and even cause chronic disease.

Lack whole foods
Your average milk alternative for toddlers can be diluted with added preservatives and stabilizers. By the end of the production process, they may contain little of the actual natural ingredients they are made from. Some of these products may be so processed they are far from being considered a whole food.

Ready for something else?

So what do you do if most of the milk alternatives on the market don’t meet the needs of your child?

Else is different from most cow’s milk alternatives. It is made with three main ingredients – almonds, buckwheat, and tapioca – without any preservatives or stabilizers. This milk-free nutrition drink contains no casein, whey, or lactose. Plus, it is made with whole foods that provide the protein, fat, fiber, vitamins, and minerals that meet the nutritional needs of your growing toddler.

With Else Plant-Based Complete Nutrition, there is now a readily available, milk-free, soy-free, non-GMO, nutritionally dense, low-in-sugar alternative to cow’s milk that’s tasty too! (Note: Contains almond.)
