Social media has become a huge part of our culture's form of communication. We would appreciate parents/guardians, teachers, and school staff to come “like” the Puma Pride PTA at Firestone Charter Academy Facebook page. We will be using this forum for reminders, updates and announcements alongside the @pumapridepta Instagram page. It would be amazing if our likes/followers equaled that of our enrolled students!

From all of us with Puma Pride PTA we would like to say THANK YOU for the outpouring of support for the Fall Festival and Chili Cook-Off. We were blown away by the number of helpers, the generosity of everyone involved, and the overall atmosphere of the day. It was a great show of community and each one of us on PTA felt lucky to be a part of it.
And in even bigger news, the cherry on top, we exceeded our goal of $9,000 profit with this event!!! We are thrilled to announce that $8,000 of this profit goes directly back to the teachers for classroom grants! Each teacher will receive up to $200 for classroom materials! Exciting, right??
For those of you who love a good visual as much as we do, here is the breakdown of voting tickets by team. Each team had a bin to collect voting tickets at the event. Individuals with an activity bracelet were able to vote for their favorite booths.

We will use the voting ticket numbers to determine which grants we fulfill first. In this case, partner teachers will have their requests filled first, then 1st grade (earned 2nd place by 1 ticket!), then Preschool, etc etc.
It is important to PTA to be transparent about where this money is going. The remaining amount raised from the Fall Festival will be put toward savings (emergency fund, student scholarships for 2022-2023, a book vending machine, etc.). If you have questions you may reach out to the PTA treasurer or attend our next meeting on 11/9 @ 7pm either in person or you can also dial in. You do not need to be a PTA member to attend meetings.
Thank you again to everyone who helped us pull off such a FUN and profitable event! We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did.

Puma Pride PTA knows that a strong partnership among our families, school leaders and community members is important to the success of our students and school. That’s why we are participating in the National PTA School of Excellence program, which grows partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students. Our participation in this program automatically grants Puma Pride PTA consideration for a $2,000 grant!
Please take 5-10 minutes to reflect on your experience at Firestone Charter Academy and complete the survey. The survey is completely anonymous and will be available on paper and digitally. Paper copies will be sent out in Friday folders next week.

Has your child's teacher gone above and beyond? Nominate him/her for a Golden Apple Award! The Golden Apple Award recognizes outstanding achievements of ALL our FCA staff (not just teachers) who dedicate their valuable time to make our school wonderful! A winner and a runner up will be announced during assemblies for Grammar Academy and Logic Academy. Please write a brief and specific narrative for why you are nominating a FCA staff member. Nomination forms are available in printable pdf form and also in digital form.
