Our community has been waiting patiently for the release of a revised Masterplan for the NorthShore Hamilton area by the State Government’s Economic Development Queensland (EDQ - the planning authority for the Northshore Hamilton area).
First declared as a Priority Development Area in 2009, a revised Masterplan has been a work in progress for some time but is now ready, I am told, for imminent release and incorporating plans for the Olympics and Paralympics Athletes’ Village.
Once the Masterplan has been released, I’m told there will be time for public consultation and for the receipt of submissions.
Northshore Hamilton PDA Construction Update October 2021
On behalf of EDQ, construction company BMD is undertaking works on the road network and infrastructure at the eastern end of the Northshore Hamilton Precinct. These are NOT Council works. This, though, is to provide information about the works and to assure visitors to Eat Street, the Tennis Centre, the Northshore Cafe and the CityCat Terminal that detours are in place that allow access to all these great places. Works include the addition of two roads between MacArthur Avenue and ‘MacArthur Avenue North’ (not its official name, this is one road on a loop), upgrades to MacArthur Road itself and minor changes to Theodore Street.
