Better Hearing Better Living

October 2021

Welcome to the October Edition of Better Hearing Australia Brisbane's Monthly Newsletter

Being Hearing Friendly trained

October is Queensland Senior's Month and, with support from Council Of The Aging (COTA), we're encouraging all local councils throughout Queensland to implement our Hear Here e-Learning Training Module. Hear Here was developed with funding from the Queensland Government under the Age-Friendly Communities Program to support local council front-of-house teams to better meet the needs of older residents with hearing loss. You can find out more about Hear Here and some of the other services we provide in the links below. Think your local government staff could do with some ‘Hear Here’ training?

Have you found your quiet place yet?

Our members and friends tell us all the time how much a noisy restaurant or venue can make conversation with friends and family really difficult and potentially ruin what should be a good night out. Thanks to Soundprint, now there’s something you can do about it. Check out our story on the SoundPrint app and the ‘Find Your Quiet Place’ campaign below to see how you can get involved. How many ‘sound checks’ can you make this month?

Veterans and hearing loss

It's also Veteran's Health Week this month so we've put together a short piece outlining the full range of free hearing services and devices available to Australian Veterans.

We'll keep sharing our latest blog posts and featured news articles each month so be sure to check out what's new and click the links for the full story and access to downloadable resources.
