We Are Still Looking for Candidates for Three ANPR Board of Directors Positons

Has ANPR made a difference in your personal and professional life? Would you like to help contribute to the continued success and growth of ANPR as the professional organization for employees of the National Park Service?

We are still looking for candidates!

This year, three key positions are open: President-Elect, Board Member for Fundraising and Board Member for Membership Services. Visit our website to see who’s currently on the board, and to review the “officer position descriptions.” Board of Directors | ANPR

Per the ANPR By-Laws: "Nominations for vacant positions on the Board will be received at each annual Ranger Rendezvous, or by mail, fax, or e-mail to the Secretary or any election committee member no later than 7 days following the Rendezvous." Since we didn't have a Rendezvous this year, nominations opened during the annual membership meeting on Saturday, October 16. Nominations will close on Saturday, October 23.

If you have an interest in running for any of these positions or if you would like to nominate someone to run, please submit nominations by email to Melissa DeVaughn (ANPR Business Manager) at mdevaughn@anpr.org.

Harry Yount Lifetime Achievement Award Presentations

ANPR President Paul Anderson travelled to Yellowstone National Park on October 14 to present two Harry Yount Lifetime Achievement Awards to Jack Morehead and Bill Halainen, both of whom were present to receive the awards. We thank Superintendent Cam Sholly and his staff for hosting and supporting the event. (Photo below shows the award bust presented to Jack and Bill.)

Soon after the first of the year (and the new ANPR BOD is seated), President Anderson will appoint a committee to review the criteria for the award and establish the process for future nominations for the award.

UCF-Tab-Signature-lockup_horizontal-KG-7406

The Association of National Park Rangers is cooperating with the University of Central Florida on a research study of Ranger Associations. Here are the details:

You are being invited to voluntarily take part in a research study. The purpose of this research is to examine perceptions and experiences with ranger associations. You are being asked to participate because of your experience working in, or in association with, conservation areas and ranger associations. The data you provide will be valuable for strengthening conservation efforts.

You are being asked to participate in a survey. This survey will take place in a setting of your choosing and will be completed online. The survey is expected to range from 15-30 minutes, and your responses will be confidential.

You can conduct the interview in a setting and time of your choice. The interview is expected to last approximately 1 hour, and your responses will be confidential.

If you would like to participate in the interview, or if you have questions, please contact:
