Going Deep
October 15, 2021

First, From the Heart

We hear the inner voice that calls us to lead, that calls us to create new ways of doing and being. Or have we muted it? Can we act courageously in the most difficult circumstances, or does fear take charge? What fuels us to carry on, keep the fire burning, and do our part?

This week, a colleague in one of our training cohorts asked the group how they continue on their compassionate leadership journey when the impact of their efforts was slow, imperceptible in the larger scheme of things, or even not as intended. The whole cohort nodded in collective agreement. We shared more together about patience, persistence, practice, and baby steps.

We rise to tackle significant challenges and look for the external signs that tell us we are on the right path. However, the only checkpoint that truly matters is your inner trust meter. Am I aligned in my actions? Am I true to my values? Am I living on purpose? May compassion for yourself and others support you on the journey.

Go Deep and Change the World

The crises the world is facing – climate change, substantial healthcare and income inequities, ongoing regional conflict and war – are substantial, and call for decisive responses. When we explore compassion, our own intentions, and our power to lead real systems change, we see that compassion offers the power and strength that are necessary to confront the biggest challenges in the world today. Read more.

Practice Matters

Freedom Flows

Unbounded by the physical world as we know it, we find a whole new territory to explore just below the surface. The deeper we go, the more we come to know – both about ourselves and the infinite canvas of all that is. How is it possible that such a magical environment has escaped the attention of so many for so long?

Most of us recognize the potential inner exploration holds. And yet, taking this detour from our outer experience can feel remarkably uncomfortable. Do we really want to commune with all that we’ve stowed below for so long?

Slowly we cultivate more comfort and ease with everything we encounter, with ourselves. All that is challenging, all that is joyful, all that is – has brought us to this moment. Here we also find our desires, our dreams, and our deepest intentions that keep our compass pointed in the direction that is uniquely ours. Practice takes us there and gifts us with each new insight. What arises from our intuition will change the world.

When can we practice? Always!
