Call for Prayer

Please may I ask all of you, dear friends of ACN, to remember in prayer Sir David Amess, MP. May he rest in peace. Please pray too for Julia and their family.

Lord Alton, former Board Member of Aid to the Church in Need posted this:
https://www.davidalton.net/2021/10/15/sir-david-amess-mp/

Fiona Bruce MP, the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Religious Freedom, has spoken about Sir David’s commitment to Freedom of Religion or Belief; he had just sponsored a forthcoming debate on the Elimination of Religious Intolerance. She also said:  “David was always faithfully pro-life and faithfully pro family. A dear man with a humble manner and a gentle humour which built friendships across the House. The phrase ‘will be sorely missed’ can be overused, but not with reference to David.”

Sir David supported Aid to the Church in Need’s parliamentary initiatives. He regularly attended our events and did much to speak up for the needs of persecuted Christians and others. His death is an attack against parliamentary democracy in this country but more importantly, is a devastating blow to his wife and children and all who knew and respected him and his achievements.

Please join us this evening and at Mass this weekend in remembering him and his family in prayer.

Eternal Rest grant unto him, O Lord. May perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace. Amen.
