Dear students,

I want to introduce Undocumented Student Services to those of you who joined the Triton family this academic year. 
 

–If you are a returning student, I hope the information on this newsletter won't be new to you, but just in case, give it a read. Maybe you'll learn something new!
 

For the incoming students: Welcome to UC San Diego! I know things are still shifting when it comes to how we'll all make this academic year work, but one thing is sure, Undocumented Student Services is here for you.

I thought about listing all of our programs and services here, but that would take too much space, and you may never read the entire newsletter. You can find that information on this page. 

I do want to let you know that although our unit primarily focuses on supporting undocumented students, we also work with students from mixed-status families and those who are Permanent Residents or U.S. citizens.

For example, if you are a Permanent Resident who wants to become a U.S. citizen, we can help.

If you are a U.S. citizen and wonder if you can help your undocumented parents adjust their immigration status, we can help.

If you are a U.S. citizen and your partner is undocumented, and you want to see if getting married will lead to your partner adjusting their status and you both living a happy married life, we can help with the first, but the second will be on you. However, we will cheer for you :)

For students who identify as undocumented: You are our Bread and Butter! We are here for you in more ways than you can imagine. I know that opening up about your status is not easy– other team members and I share or have shared the experience– but I ask that you give us a chance.

Without a doubt, you will be faced with questions that arise from your immigration status that you may not know the answers to, and that's where we come in. Let's figure things out together! Please make an appointment with our team to talk about your immigration status and let us help you maximize your time at UC San Diego and prepare for what's after.
