October half-term food vouchers
The government has recently launched the Household Support Fund Grant. It has been agreed that BCP Council will use some of the grant to provide eligible pre-school and school age children with a £30 supermarket food voucher for the October half-term holiday period.
We apologise this is coming to you late in the term, but the offer has only just been confirmed.

Schools will issue vouchers directly for eligible school age children.
Vouchers for eligible pre-school age children are available through the Family Information Service. A £30 voucher is available for each eligible child.
Eligibility criteria for pre-school age children
The following criteria must be met to qualify for a food voucher.

Children must be living in Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole and currently meet at least one of the following:
  • currently receiving two-year early education funding at your setting
  • currently receiving Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) funding at your setting
  • currently open to children's social care or early help.
Communication with eligible families about the offer
To help us support as many children as possible, please can you share information about the voucher offer with eligible families. We receive a very high demand for vouchers and need to apply the criteria strictly, so to avoid disappointment, we ask that the information is only shared with parent / carers of children that meet the stated eligibility criteria.
Process for families that have had a food voucher before
We are currently reviewing our list of those who have been issued with a food voucher from us before. If a child for whom a voucher was issued previously is still currently meeting the eligibility criteria, we will email the parent soon to tell them that we will be reissuing a voucher for the October half term period. There is no need for those parents to reapply.

If a parent who has had a voucher from us previously does not receive an email from us, it is because their child is no longer meeting the eligibility criteria and we are unable to issue a voucher.
How to apply for a food voucher – new applicants
Applications for vouchers for those who have not had them before, can be made via the online form below. The deadline for applications is 11pm on Friday 29 October. The form is straightforward and only takes a few minutes to complete.

Please share the application form link with your eligible families and support any parents who may need help completing the form.
