HAH staff and long-term care members met up this week at the AHCA/NCAL national convention in National Harbor, Maryland, to learn more about national trends in senior living and long-term care, network among their peers, and to receive national Quality Awards for their organizations.
Among the attendees were
Wes Lo, CEO of Ohana Pacific Health and chair of the HAH Long-Term Care Committee, and
Ashley Takitani, director of communications & development of Ohana Pacific Heallth, and
Hershel Caywood, executive director/administrator, Clarence T.C. Ching Villas at St. Francis.
HAH staff at the convention, which merged the annual conference with the Quality Awards this year, included
Patrick Harrison, senior director of post-acute care;
Paige Heckathorn Choy, associate vice president, government affairs; and
Cathi Ben-Yossef, senior director, reimbursement and quality.
The Clarence T.C. Ching Villas at St. Francis received the only Silver Quality Award this year. Hershel Caywood accepted the award at the convention on behalf of the organization. Silver level award recipients must first receive a Bronze level award.
The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Awards entail a rigorous three-level process that evaluates long-term care organizations’ capabilities against nationally recognized standards for excellence. Each progressive award level — Bronze – Commitment to Quality, Silver - Achievement in Quality, and Gold – Excellence in Quality, requires a more detailed demonstration of superior performance.
Intent to apply notifications for the awards are being accepted until Nov. 11. For more information, click
