As I write this letter, a quote from Pooh (yes the great Winnie the Pooh) comes to mind, “It’s the first day of autumn! A time of hot chocolatey mornings, and toasty marshmallow evenings, and, best of all, leaping into leaves!” I tend to be a bit more of an Eeyore than a Pooh, but he does have his moments.
Fall is a great time of year – a great time of year for field work, for working out in the yard, and for spending time with family and friends outdoors. Take this time to spend more with family and friends and less time working. In this new age of working from home and taking work with you wherever you go, capitalize on those quiet and fun moments with those who you enjoy (or just yourself – nothing wrong with some personal time). Take the time to enjoy the toasty marshmallow evenings and jump in a pile of leaves full knowing that you will just have to rake them up again; all the while you are not looking at your phone or glancing over at the laptop. Have a great October everyone!

Symposium on electric power transformation!
Virtual Conference • October 19-20, 2021
The MEGA Symposium returns in 2021 with a focus on the transition of the electric power industry to cleaner and climate resilient electric power that can remain cost-effective and reliable. Electric power energy issues abound as the nation and the industry address climate change, air quality, waste and water policy and technology issues related to energy production and delivery. With a 20-year history, this conference has adapted as the industry’s demands and key interests have changed, switching its focus from advancements in emissions control technologies towards environmental and energy policy, renewable energy sources, and transformative projects.

Developing Emission Inventories for Corporate Greenhouse
Gas Reporting and Setting Reduction Goals
Wednesday, November 10, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm ET
Investors are recognizing the importance for corporations to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint and develop a plan to manage climate change-induced risks to their operations and supply chain. Larry Flink, CEO of BlackRock, stated in 2020, “We believe that sustainability should be our new standard for investing." Since then, numerous other investment organizations have followed BlackRock’s lead. Net zero or carbon neutral claims can vary significantly from one company to the next depending on the emissions included, the timeframe, and how the reductions are achieved.
