We've set up a birthday web page with the charities we've supported in lieu of gifts this year to support those groups that need even more support during covid. We encourage you to also support them if possible.

gemaker turns 10!
The past decade has been a rollercoaster journey taking gemaker from simple start-up to an industry-leading commercialisation agency.
With Covid-19 still prevalent, we celebrate our birthday the best way we can – by appreciating the achievements of our team and clients, and giving a helping hand to those in need.
Happy birthday celebrations with our team! On Friday we had a zoom afternoon tea with those of our team that could make it to celebrate our achievements and turning 10. We brought our favourite afternoon tea treats and some of our team met each other for the first time. See our whole team here.
A 10-year old gem that helps others to shine
Growing gemaker since 2011 has involved some dark days and lots of hard work for the gemaker team, so we don’t always smell lovely but we have endured and blossomed. As our tenth birthday approaches, we’re shining with pride in our achievements. Read more here.

Australian Space Awards
The Australian Space Awards recognise the leading individuals and businesses driving the development of Australia’s space economy. The awards are open to all organisations operating in Australia in support of the space industry. Nominations close November 21.
Cyber Security Skills Partnership Innovation Fund
The Cyber Security Skills Partnership Innovation Fund provides industry and education providers with funding to deliver innovative projects that meet local requirements to quickly improve the quality or availability of cyber security professionals in Australia. Applications close December 6.
Communicate or die: marketing new technologies
Excellent communication skills are critical for tech transfer/commercialisation professionals to succeed in taking new knowledge and technology to market. This session is run by gemaker's Dr. Julie Wheway and Rebecca Colless. It's not too late to register!
NAVIGATE program
If you’re a high-performing researcher, academic or STEM professional looking to supercharge your career, then apply for the NAVIGATE program. The program is supported by DST Group and provides an exciting opportunity for high-performing STEM specialists from a range of academic backgrounds to grow and develop as a senior leader in a supported environment. Applications close November 15.
Sharing Ideas with the Power to do good IdeaSpies is an open source platform for "sharing ideas that do good". In order to grow they are embarking on a reward crowdfunding campaign with their partner ReadyFundGo. The team aim to raise enough funds to seed the world with 1,000 ideas that do good each month. This month was the deadline for submissions for the Higher Education Research Commercialisation IP Framework. We applaud the Government's focus on this vital sector and suggest framework adaptions and extension so address outstanding issues. You can read our response here.
