This month is in full swing and I'm definitely back into society. This newsletter has been sitting in my inbox for more than a week and it is finally time to send it out!
It's so strange and exhilarating being among people again...I have been a bit overwhelmed by all the outings and meetings and just basic life happening again.
The residency was nerve-wracking, funny, sweet, surprising and way too short. It feels already so far away.
The work I have sent out to my assigned artist could have been so much better if I had had more time but it was also the point of the whole experience: to let go.
I went in with a priority: to be present in the moment and to keep a very relaxed approach to the work.
This experience was something I badly needed to snap out of my isolation cocoon and meet people, an incredible opportunity to have a new perspective on my work.
I feel like my approach to photographing has really shifted in the last year and I will need to rethink the way I perceive it still.
You know when you cut your hair and for a while afterwards, you still get surprised looking in the mirror because your consciousness still hasn't registered the change?

In the spirit of how this newsletter started out, sharing inspiration during the pandemic, I'm going to leave this music here, it's something I put on while reading (no, it's not sad or melancholic as per usual)

On another note, I'll be leaving the UK next week for a much-awaited trip to Sardegna for 10 days. I am so excited and curious to see how it will unfold but more than anything to document it with a totally new approach: recounting a story.
