Main Street Community Education Grants Available

BISMARCK, N.D. – Main Street Community Education Grant applications are now being accepted under the Cultural Heritage Grant Program administered by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. The education grants are focused on projects that enhance educational curriculum for pre-kindergarten to graduate students.

Funding priority will be given to projects that demonstrate partnerships between teachers or educators and local museums or history organizations. Projects are to be developed by teachers or educators and will connect youth, young adults, and the community to local and regional history. Teachers and educators of all levels are encouraged to apply.

The Cultural Heritage Grant Program provides grant funding to history organizations in the areas of education, collections, special projects, and capital improvements. Heritage Training Scholarships, the North Dakota Museum Assessment Program, and the Archival Supply Purchase Grants are also available through the grant program.

Applications and guidelines for the grant programs are available at history.nd.gov or can be requested by contacting Grants and Contracts Officer Amy Munson at 701.328.3573. The Cultural Heritage Grant Program has been administered by the State Historical Society since it was first created in 2003.
