Willamette Water Supply Pipeline (PLM_5.0) and Water Storage Tanks (RES_1.0)

October 2021

Dear Neighbor,

Willamette Water Supply Program (WWSP) Water Storage Tanks and Scholls Ferry Road Area Pipeline Project pre-construction activities are in full swing. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2022. Recently, WWSP initiated the contracting process with construction firms to install the 66-inch diameter pipeline, for ground improvements at the water storage tank site; and for water storage tank construction.

In the next few months, site visits along the pipeline route and at the water storage tank site will likely increase. These visits are for coordination activities with utilities, agency staff and contractors.

The Willamette Water Supply Program's (WWSP) Scholls Ferry Road Area Pipeline Project (PLM_5.3) and the South Beaverton Area Water Storage Tanks (RES_1.0) are being constructed concurrently to reduce the impacts on close by neighbors and the traveling public. Hoffman-Fowler LLC, a joint venture of Hoffman Construction Company and James W. Fowler Co. is the Construction Manager/General Contractor of the combined pipeline and water storage tank projects.
Scholls Ferry Road Area Pipeline Project (PLM_5.3)
This segment of the pipeline includes approximately 20,000 linear feet of 66-inch diameter, welded steel pipe. The pipeline alignment begins just north of the intersection of SW Tile Flat and SW Grabhorn Roads, to connect to the recently installed PLM_5.2 pipeline to the south. The pipeline alignment travels north following Grabhorn Road to the future water storage tanks at the intersection of SW Grabhorn and SW Stonecreek Drive. The pipeline alignment then travels west on private property until it reaches the existing Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) corridor where it will travel north following the BPA corridor to SW Farmington Road. North of Farmington Road, the pipeline alignment is within a potential future Cornelius Pass Road corridor through private property where it will connect to the South Hillsboro Pipeline Project (PLW_1.0), which is currently under construction and is anticipated to be complete in 2022.
South Beaverton Area Water Storage Tanks (RES_1.0)
Two 15-million-gallon water storage tanks will be built near the intersection of SW Grabhorn Road and SW Stonecreek Drive. Construction of one water storage tank (easternmost on the site) will be coordinated with the PLM_5.3 project and is anticipated to be complete in spring 2025. Construction of the westerly water tank has been deferred to approximately 2035.
Project Schedule
Construction: 2022 - 2024
