This is What Love Does

Recently the news featured the story of a young man who had fallen in love and wanted to get engaged to his girlfriend.

He was ready to take the next big step. However, he wanted to do what most men have never done. Instead of going to the store and buying an engagement ring, he wanted to go way beyond that...

Sunset Lake Says: "Welcome Back to the Conference Living Room!"

Sunset Lake Camp has new health and safety guidelines after consulting with county public health officials. These new guidelines make it much easier for groups to assemble for outdoor worship and recreation - and even overnight stays.

"I received word from the Pierce County Health Department that the Governor’s office approved lifting the requirements for proof of vaccine or COVID testing and 72 hour quarantine for all guests," shares David Yeagley, Sunset Lake Camp executive director. "This made hosting an overnight retreat almost impossible. Also we no longer need to break our guest groups into cohorts of 30 or less. This is great news and will make hosting events at Sunset Lake much easier."

Clergy Appreciation Month

Our Conference Team is meeting with each pastor district group in October and treating them to lunch and supportive conversation. We appreciate and pray for our pastoral team throughout the year!

Esther Knott from the North American Division Ministerial Association pulled out a pad of paper and a pen to illustrate ideas for appreciating your pastor. Tab through a Facebook Gallery to see all 26 of her ideas!

Foundational Blocks of Education

Values are the foundational blocks upon which a better life is built including successes in education, skills and talents. An investment in Christian education is priceless! Our school puts values into action in all we do and encourage students to do the same. These are values like endurance, thankfulness, service, compassion, creativity, peace, hope, justice, wisdom and humility.

All 20 Adventist schools in western Washington teach the significance of being fair and just. We expect students to be kind even in times of disagreement. We teach the inspired lessons from those who have overcome injustice to create a better future for ALL.

Locate the Adventist school nearest you and start a conversation about what language expansion options are available.

We have a high level of vaccination in the State of Washington, and we are still in a pandemic where good health and safety habits are still important.

  • Whatever your vaccination status and over the age of 5, please wear a mask at church.
  • If you are gathered for a small group and everyone in attendance is vaccinated, you do not need to wear a mask (especially if outdoors).
  • If you visit a school campus or community service center, please wear a mask and cooperate with the local health screening process.
As always, kindness and grace to each other in our interactions goes a long way.
