VOLUNTEER CLEAN UP IN HONOR OF TOM LABONGE

Our local clean-up site will be on October 9th at Griffith Park and Fern Dell Drive from 8:30am-12 noon. Meet at 2333 Fern Dell Drive. Please register HERE.

On January 7, 2021, we lost a champion of public service in LA, Tom LaBonge. The former Councilmember for LA's Fourth District - affectionately known as 'Mr. LA' - represented the best of what LA could be. He was tireless in his service of others, and could often be found cleaning storm drains, sweeping streets and filling pot holes around town.

Born and raised in LA, he never stopped singing its praises. He loved this city and all the people in it - and he dedicated his life to making it a better place.

In the spirit of Mr. LA, and to celebrate his birthday on October 6th, the City of Los Angeles is hosting four simultaneous community clean ups around town. Join city leaders, volunteers, neighbors and friends to make our communities shine a little brighter and show our LA love. Tools will be provided, and masks will be required.

Please register HERE.

PEDESTRIAN TUNNEL CLOSURE WORK COMMENCES

In response to several public safety and mobility concerns from nearby stakeholders, the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council, as well as LAPD, CD13 has identified funding for and will be pursuing the closures of the two pedestrian tunnels at these two intersections in the East Hollywood area.

These tunnel closure locations are a part of a series of scheduled closures throughout the City, with 2.5 in CD13, 3 in CD9, and .5 in CD4.

General Services Division began construction on the full tunnel closure on September 17th, 2021. The project broke ground on the south side of Hollywood Blvd, and will proceed to the north side of Hollywood Blvd. Construction is anticipated to extend into early December.Pedestrian Tunnel Closures at Hollywood Blvd. & New Hampshire Ave.
