Regional Transport Strategy Consultation
Tactran, the regional transport partnership covering the Angus, Dundee, Perth & Kinross and Stirling Council areas, has started work on a new Regional Transport Strategy (RTS) and would welcome your views to inform its development. The RTS provides a complementary role to the Council’s Local Transport Strategy, helping identify and bring forward regionally significant transport developments, for example, those transport issues that apply across local authority boundaries.
The process will be ongoing for over a year, with three principal consultation phases planned (i.e. issues, options, strategy). The first stage of this work is to seek views on the problems, opportunities, issues and constraints that should be considered, and we would be grateful if you could assist by answering the questions posed at the end of the Main Issues Consultation Report.
Input will be captured from stakeholders throughout the whole process, so if your group or organisation is willing to provide input collectively, please advise by contacting info@dvva.scot, and we can discuss how and when we can best help capture your input during the process
For any further information, please contact: jonathanpadmore@tactran.gov.uk.

Lochee Community Hub: Test of Change 2021
Lochee Community Hub have shared an extensive report of their work to develop links within the community & service providers to work with others around the areas highlighted by the 2019 Drug Commission Report.
Based on the evidence received, Lochee Hub developed links with services to expand on what they were delivering. For this, further questionnaires and discussions with clients were completed regarding what services they would like to see, groups etc. within the building.
This enabled us to have a greater understanding of the need and provide the services based on a needs basis. Discussions and meetings with services were completed and group work sessions and one-to-one support from Lochee Hub began.
This in turn developed a greater multi agency approach and a holistic approach to the provision delivered from Lochee Hub. Read more here

MS Society: Peer Support
What is peer support? Peer support is different to clinical and professional services, because the support comes from a peer volunteer who has MS. A peer volunteer can bring a fresh perspective to your challenges, by offering support based on their own experiences. Currently we offer up to six sessions with a peer volunteer. Sessions are on-line or over the phone initially. If it suits you both, you may be able to meet in person as the sessions continue. Peer support is a free and confidential service. You are matched with your peer volunteer based on what you want from peer support. Examples of the MS issues that people bring to peer support include: impact on work, pain management, exercise, and the need to speak to someone outside of family and friends about MS.
What have people said about the service? Feedback from people who have used the service include: “We had a great first session. I got some tips around pain management and we had lots to chat about.” “Everything was positive for me” “It was really nice to be able to speak to someone about MS who doesn’t know me and is not part of my medical team.” Alison is one of our peer volunteers. She recently gave an interview for the Courier, which explains peer support in her own words. You can read the article here.
Get in touch: To find out more simply call Susan Matthews on 01382 938082 or email mymsmyway@mssociety.org.uk and we will get back to you.

Volunteering Support Fund 2021-2024
The Scottish Government’s Volunteering Support Fund is now open for applications. The £3.3 million Fund will be delivered on its behalf by Impact Funding Partners over the next 3 years. Organisations can apply for up to £30,000 to March 2024.
The fund is geared towards organisations in Scotland with an annual income of under £250,000. The fund will support organisations to deliver on four key outcomes:

- Improve governance, leadership and financial knowledge of organisations through the recruitment of skilled volunteers to enhance the third sector's capacity
- Improve organisational capacity to provide opportunities for skills and personal development through volunteering
- Enhance services delivered by organisations to better meet the needs of the communities they serve
