Numerous times throughout Scripture, we see God’s heart for orphaned children on display, as well as His desire to see His followers actively providing them care. At Parkview, we’re looking to take first steps into our biblical call to care for the orphan, starting with a collection drive to resource families served by ECFA.

Evangelical Child and Family Agency, ECFA for short, is a local organization working hard to serve families involved in the child welfare system. They connect children in need of adoptive homes with loving families, while also serving intact families to prevent their kids from entering the foster care system in the first place.

We would love for you to join us in providing everything these kids need to have a good night, including brand new:

Children’s pajamas (size 6mo - 14)
Children’s books
Diapers (size 1 - 6)

Drop items off at the lobby display or have them shipped directly to Parkview anytime throughout the month of October!

So why these items?

For the majority of kids in the child welfare system, their families didn’t end up involved with DCFS because of a lack of love for their children, but a lack of resources - whether coping skills, familial support, or financial means - and sometimes all of the above.

Addressing these needs - even through something as small as the expense of diapers and clothing - can increase a family’s ability to thrive. Through books, this is an opportunity for us to equip parents to foster strong, nurturing relationships with their kids - developing language skills and strengthening the child-parent bond!

And why new items?

We get to send a powerful message to kids and parents! Most children served by ECFA get hand-me-downs and second-hand clothing. When they receive something new with tags, it says, “You are worthy, and you are valued.”
