The one tool you are never without is your body, and how well you maintain this tool is vital. At MoveSafe, we spend a lot of time talking about how to use optimal body postures like the ‘Big 3”, however, we also know that many situations arise where you are unable to use good body mechanics. A common situation is a task that requires prolonged overhead work or an awkward ‘chicken wing’ posture with the shoulder. When you find yourself stuck in these awkward postures it becomes increasingly important to take the time to interrupt these postures and allow for tissue recovery. As those working in construction and other field occupations are aware, not all work boots are created equal. Work boots are typically offered in two main styles; 8” or 6”, which refers to how high the boot reaches up the calf. Many people assume that the 8” height work boots with their extra 2” of material provide better ankle support throughout the workday. But is that assumption correct? MEET THE TEAM - JENNA NICHOL

Jenna is a Certified Athletic Therapist and joined MoveSafe in 2017 as a Lead Consultant working with our clients predominantly in the Calgary area. Jenna consults on office ergonomics and integrating the MoveSafe principles into both office and field settings. Additionally, Jenna’s experience as a clinician increases her focus on preventative rehabilitation and exercise prescription. Jenna has a passion for helping people stay active in the things they love to do and through her work with MoveSafe hopes individuals excel in the workplace and at home.

Jenna has been active her entire life playing high-level volleyball in high school and fastpitch in university. She continues to play slow-pitch and golf recreationally and loves watching almost every sport. If she’s not in the office or clinic, you can find her courtside as a Volleyball Canada official or the team Athletic Therapist to sports such as rugby, hockey, and field hockey. Jenna has travelled to Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Holland and Germany with the Field Hockey Canada – Women’s National Team.
