We're excited to finally kick off our Fall Season with a show by this powerhouse hometown band on the East lawn of Trinity Lutheran Seminary at Capital University. Bring a lawn chair. No rain date ... check the band's website for weather cancellation, or Sid Townsend 614-556-6353.
The band formed in 1987 when all the original members were Professors in the School of Music at OSU. This is one of the most polished trad jazz bands anywhere. The star-studded current line-up features: Milo Mannino, trumpet; Michael Cox, clarinet; Vaughn Wiester, trombone; Sid Townsend, tuba and string bass; Jim Rupp, drums; and Paul Robinson, banjo and vocals.

A long-time favorite with both listeners and dancers, Dave Greer and his Classic Jazz Stompers from the Dayton area has been delighting audiences at home and abroad since the late 1980's. We're pleased to have them back for our October show!

The Band: Dave Greer on tenor guitar + banjo, with Erik Greiffenhagen on reeds, Chris Moore on cornet, and Bill Gemmer on trombone. The rhythm section is Jim Leslie on drums, Brian Cashwell on piano, and Chris Berg on string bass.

our monthly Hot Jazz Jam + Dance is back at the Rambling House. Come join the fun! PLEASE NOTE NEW HOUSE POLICY: Rambling House has implemented a new "house policy" requiring that all guests provide PROOF of VACCINATION or a negative COVID test within 48 hours of entry.They WILL be checking at the door. THREE GREAT HOT JAZZ BANDS: Featuring the Cakewalkin' Jass Band from Toledo, the Midwest All-Stars (composed of talented musicians invited from several bands) and a third band to be named.
We are excited to hold our flagship Fall Harvest event at the Valley Dale Ballroom - a venue that fits the music perfectly! Valley Dale is one of the nationally renowned Ballrooms of the “Big Band” era of the 30’s and 40’s. Many famous Big Bands and entertainers, including Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and many more have appeared at Valley Dale. The ballroom has been lovingly and beautifully restored by Rick and Landa Masdea Brunettto. You won't want to miss hearing Hot Jazz in this spectacular setting that was just made for it!
