Research reveals why whale song culture differs between northern and southern hemispheres

The new study of humpback whale song from the Department of Psychology at Royal Holloway, has revealed that their songs change and spread through whale populations in different ways based on their geographical environment. Find out more.

Royal Holloway presents honorary awards

This summer, Royal Holloway awarded six new Honorary Fellowships and nine new Honorary Doctorates. These included Honorary Fellowships for Chief Business Officer for publishing company Conde Nast and Vogue European Business Advisor, Vanessa Kingori MBE and musician Dr Brian May CBE and Honorary Doctorates for singer, songwriter and producer, Elliot Gleave (known as Example) and publisher, broadcaster, playwright and critic, Margaret Busby CBE. ABBA: who actually likes them?

ABBA's most devoted fans have helped them remain the in public consciousness. Sometimes, under difficult circumstances. Postgraduate researcher, Shanika Ranasinghe, from the Department of Music at Royal Holloway is currently researching ABBA fandom in the 21st century and has written an article for The Conversation about it. Royal Holloway Heritage Open Days

Royal Holloway invites you to explore the university virtually through a mini documentaries series, specially-made as part of the Heritage Open Days 2021.
