National Leadership Opportunities

At the 2021 AIA Annual meeting delegates voted to approve Bylaws Amendment 21-A Dissolution of AIA Regions. The amendment will dissolve the regional structure and position state AIA chapters as the conduit of information between the local and national level of AIA. As part of this restructuring, each state will have representation at the National level through various leadership opportunities. Please see the leadership options available and consider applying for the position that best fits you! 

AIA TN Seeks Applicants for Two National Positions


Members selected for the following positions will represent the state component and its members. 

1. AIA Strategic Council Position

The Council advances the profession by informing the Board of Directors and other AIA bodies of important professional issues and opportunities. It is charged with surveying the profession to identify opportunities and threats, and engaging in strategic planning to inform AIA’s goals, objectives, and strategies.

2. National Associates Committee State Representative
By promoting excellence, providing information and leadership, fostering inclusiveness and encouraging individual, community and professional development, the NAC strives to integrate the growing Associates community of the profession into a strong voice within the AIA.

Small Firm Exchange Seeks State Leaders

The Small Firm Exchange’s annual call for volunteers is open until October 31. State representatives will deliver small firm resources to TN state/local chapters and share your state’s small firm concerns with AIA national. Learn more.

EP Minority Scholarship Announced


As part of the collective declaration to Acknowledge. Listen. Learn. Act., AIA Tennessee hosted a Juneteenth Trivia Challenge and asked individuals/firms to provide financial support to fund an EP Minority Scholarship Program.

This program, developed by AIA Tennessee’s Justice Equity Inclusion Diversity (JE+DI) committee, will award scholarships to minority members considered an EP to help pay for expenses incurred in their pursuit to get licensed.

Deadline to apply is Friday, November 5. Learn more.
