Hearts Exchanged Appeal

The Hearts Exchanged journey is all about going beyond the headlines into deep work that  wrestles with how our churches can become places of belonging and embrace God’s  call to reconciliation. Participants are guided through an eight-month journey and walk  together with a community to learn from Indigenous perspectives on history and how  to move forward together in a good way.  
 

The CRC has made a number of positive steps forward in reconciliation. But there  are also areas in which we’ve fallen short. The forum that resulted in a report titled  “Hearts Exchanged” originated in the year 2000. The report emphasized that the rich  exchange of hearts that happened at this forum needed to be regular and ongoing. But regretfully that exchanging of hearts did not formally continue in the CRC. 
 

This is why it is more important now than ever for you to donate. You can help  grow this healing process. Let’s move forward with tender hearts, not allowing wrongs  to be swept under the rug or reports to be shelved. This year cohorts are taking place  in every classis in Canada. This is a robust program that goes beyond a one-time  event or expression of regret and moves toward true justice and reconciliation as a  shared spiritual journey.
