See you on Sunday (afternoon!)

Last Sunday I was getting used to saying 'afternoon' instead of 'morning', and I hope that you too are getting used to coming to our services on Sunday afternoons!

This Sunday we're at St. Luke's again at 2.30pm, and the details of how to find the place are below.  For those driving, note that the parking restrictions do not apply on Sundays, but please park with consideration to St. Luke's' neighbours and don't block their access.  Also, be aware that there is a Bus Stand along the side of the church where parking is not permitted at any time.

This Sunday we're finishing our short dive into Hebrews, and Maureen will be helping us think about spurring each other on to love and good deeds!  It should be a good time, and we look forward to seeing you there.

As we meet regularly again in person, we do of course need people to help make the practical aspects of meeting work well.  I know that Kim has been in touch with those who have served refreshments in the past - if you'd like to join the team that serve in this way, do get in touch.

If there are other ways you'd like to contribute to our Sundays please let me know.

Our AGM - Sunday 17th October

Please come to our CCC AGM on Sunday 17th October!  It will be at St. Luke's after our service that afternoon - we'll have a quick break for refreshments and then re-gather.

It's a great time to review how we're doing as CCC, and remind each other of what God has been doing through us.

It's also a time to look ahead to 2022, and we'll have news to share about what's coming up then.

So please plan to be there - everyone is an important part of who CCC is!

Gift Day 2021 - 17th & 24th October

We are so grateful for all the finances that are given to CCC through the year!  We acknowledge that everything we have is a gift from God, and what we receive as CCC enables us to do what we believe God has called us to do.

Each year we also make an extra request for additional one-off gifts to CCC.  This year, this 'Gift Day' is on 17th and 24th October.

These gifts enable us to keep being generous in our support of overseas mission through iNet, and of projects close to our heart like One Way School in Harare.

They support The Point, which is the venue for so much of what we do to shine Jesus' light into the local community.  I am so encouraged by the stories that come out of the contacts we make with people at Connection Point, PlayPoint, the English Class, and Pins, which show the importance of having that space to give people the time they need.

And of course there are the more mundane aspects, such as the increased costs we can expect at The Point as energy prices go up, and the fact that we've seen reduced income from hiring out The Point during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

So, please pray and decide if you're able to make a one-off gift to CCC this autumn - every gift is so much appreciated, whether that is money, time or energy, all of which go towards CCC being what it is!

Thank you!

Dave is moving!

Last Sunday morning we prayed for Dave as he's moving out of the flat where he's lived for many years.

He's moving to Room 5, Bluebell Lodge, 235-239 Hither Green Lane, SE13 6TH, on Monday, and I'm sure he'll be really pleased to receive cards to welcome him to his new home.

We're been gradually moving some things into the new room, and you can see some of Dave's large library in place.

Please continue to pray for Dave up to and after the move, that he will settle in and get to know the others living and working in Bluebell Lodge.
