Boston Marathon Festivities, Hiller Cross Country Trains for Marathon Broadcast and more.. On October 7th HCAM News!

On the October 7th edition of HCAM News, we have the latest Hillers sports update, the Boston Athletic Association was recognized for hosting their 125th Boston Marathon, which will take place next Monday and we’ll show you a cool Hopkinton community video showing their love for Boston Marathon Athletes but first the Hopkinton Hillers Cross Country team trained to become WBZ Boston Marathon spotters.

Watch Now: Hiller Cross Country Trains to be Boston Marathon Spotters for WBZ Coverage

Race spotwatch was a program established in 1985 by Olympic Coach and running expert, Frank Tressler and Boston Marathon Director & Community relations expert, Tim Kilduff.

Race stopwatch provides the most accurate information of a race or marathon to the producers, on air personalities and the behind the scenes staff. The organization was at Hopkinton High School this past monday to train the Hillers cross country to become Marathon spotters for the WBZ Boston Marathon coverage.

Lawrence "Larry" W. Pomeroy, 80

Lawrence "Larry" W. Pomeroy, 80, died Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham. He was the husband of Margaret (Smith) Pomeroy, to whom he was married for 57 years. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Marshall and Mary (O'Hara) Pomeroy.

A graduate of Boston Trade High School, Larry worked for many years as an auto mechanic. While working for RCA, he worked on the Apollo moon landing as a project manager in charge of the lunar lander landing radar. His name is on a plaque attached to the lander. He was a member of the Minuteman Militia and a model train enthusiast. He volunteered for many years at St. John's Rummage Sale.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son William L. Pomeroy and wife Melissa (Hickey) Pomeroy of Millbury and his granddaughters Anastasia and Natalie Pomeroy. He also leaves his siblings David and Nancy Pomeroy.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October, 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Hopkinton. Burial will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to the Salvation Army, PO Box 311, Framingham, MA 01702.
