Student Research Day
Call for abstracts and judges!

October 28th from 10AM to 6PM ET

MCGSO's annual Student Research Day will be held on Thursday, October 28th! This is an excellent opportunity for BGE students to present their research, either in oral presentation or poster format, to an audience of GU faculty, students and staff. This year, the keynote speaker will be Dr. Kaela Singleton!

Abstract submissions are now open for PhD students and will close at 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 13th.  Abstracts will be accepted on a first come, first served basis as there are limited spots available. For accepted poster presentations, poster instructions will be sent out for posters to be due on Wednesday, October 19th by 11:59pm.

As a reminder, oral presentations are limited to 10 people and requests will be granted on a first come, first served basis as well. Abstracts must follow these guidelines:
  • 2300 character limit, including spaces.
  • Abstract should be one paragraph.
  • No pictures, diagrams, or charts allowed.
  • If you use symbols such as α, β, γ, or δ in the body of your abstract, make sure that they are formatted to Arial 10 normal.
  • Do not include any references or footnotes
  • Title in sentence case (ex: First word capitalized only.)
  • Principle investigator (the PhD student) is first author
  • List other authors or investigators after the principle investigator, separated by a comma
  • Please list each author using the format [Last Name, First Initial]
  • List institutions below the names, using a superscript number to indicate each author’s institution affiliation.
  • Save your document in .doc or .docx format with the filename of "LastNameFirstInitial.doc"
