Hello and happy Friday, picklers! Did you know that October 10 is the official day designated by World Pickleball Federation as World Pickleball Day? What are your plans this weekend, besides playing pickleball with your besties?

Chicken N Pickle is hosting a World Pickleball Day tournament for competitive and social players on Sunday. There will also be live music in the afternoon to add to the festivities. Everyone is invited. Party tickets are available for purchase for those who just wish to spectate. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

Speaking of tournaments, the ICT Fall-out Pickleball Tournament last month was a huge success. Besides many of our Wichita Pickleball friends, it drew players from other parts of Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and other states. Over 230 players competed and several earned highly coveted medals (some more than one). You can view the full results here. |

MAJOR LEAGUE PICKLEBALL IS FINALLY HERE!

You've heard lots of talk about Major League Pickleball (MLP). The wait is over because it's finally here! In case you missed it, there's a link to the full draft video below. The draft, which took place live on Facebook and YouTube on October 1, is one of the most exciting things to happen in the pickleball world this year.
There were a few surprises (such as top pros who aren't participating this round and a newcomer who is so new that they didn't even have her picture -- Kansas City superstar Yana Grechkina) but it should come as no surprise that both members of #TeamModel (aka #TeamEurope) were drafted. Read the Dink's very thorough recap of the MLP draft here.
Unlike the Newmans, they weren't fortunate enough to be drafted to the same team. This makes me so conflicted because now I have to choose between the two of them. So, are we going with the #WinterSoldier and cheering for ATX Pickleballers or are we going with #TheFlyingFrenchman and cheering for the Lions? I am so torn.
