Online:  Zoom!  The link will be shared via email (for subscribers), Facebook, and on our website (www.sapgh.org/virtual) one hour before the event.

What?  It will be a morning of community and togetherness, designed to celebrate the one life we know we have!  Our celebration will including songs, readings, a deep dive into the monthly topic, and MUCH more!

This month's theme for Sunday Assembly is Death & Dying:  Remembrance.  Our speakers this month will be Laura Faessel and Maria St. Clair, both from Penn Forest Natural Burial Park.

Laura Faessel has a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from Slippery Rock University. She spent her final semester comparing the burial methods of five different cultures. During this time she developed a passion for green burial and an even deeper respect for how other cultures care for and bury their dead. Laura assisted Pete McQuillin at Penn Forest Natural Burial Park for 3 1/2 years until Pete retired earlier this year, at which time, she has fully embraced all that running a green cemetery has to offer.

Maria St. Clair has an associate's degree in photography and brings her camera along for every hike that she goes on. Focusing on the small and usually overlooked details of the natural world, she has always been fascinated and passionate about all things ecological. Along with her love for nature and sustainability, Maria had been interested in cemetery work long before she found Penn Forest. For her, working in the field of green burial was a perfect way to combine her two interests of deathcare and all things natural. Maria assists Laura, the manager of Penn Forest on all things involved within a green cemetery.
