Hard to believe it is already almost mid-October. Fall is definitely upon us as we see the beautiful colors change and feel the weather get a bit crisp. I hope you are settling into the final quarter of the year.

Key State Issues
  • The Michigan Saves loan loss reserve will receive $1.5 million in additional funding.
  • We are focused on MSHDA's efforts to secure $100 million in funding for the Housing and Community Development Fund, and $150 million in funding for Michigan's CDFI community.
  • We are gearing up for Hike From Home, with first meetings approaching rapidly on October 21.
Key Federal Issues
  • The Protecting Financial Privacy Act has been introduced in the U.S. Senate to block a proposal from the IRS and others like it.
  • The U.S. Senate confirmed Rohit Chopra as the next director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
  • CUNA has communicated with FASB requesting exemption from CECL for credit unions.
