¡Hola, hola!
I pray that this email finds you well and enjoying the manifold blessings of the Lord. (I apologize if you are opening this on your phone and the text is tiny!! I can't figure out how to change it quickly enough, and I really want to send it out today, so I'm sorry!! 🤪 I'll do my best to fix it for next time.)
And now, the updates:
My family has been in a pensive season recently as we experienced the death of both my father and a brother in the past weeks. It has been a challenging time, to say the least. A lot of sadness, but so many good memories, and such a good God to comfort us.
In addition, I join Jim Munger (former Director of the TWR Spanish Ministry) and his family in mourning the loss of his wife, Carol, who went to be with the Lord last month. I was blessed to work alongside Carol for several hears here in Cary and admired her passion for serving the Lord through serving the Spanish-speaking world.

TWR in Afghanistan
With Afghanistan being in the news recently, my thoughts turn toward TWR’s transmitter in that part of the world. Since 2014, the PANI transmitter (named for the countries within the listening footprint: Pakistan, Afghanistan, and North India) has broadcast Christian programs in languages like Hindi, Urdu, Kashmiri, and Bagri to many unreached people groups.
The powerful PANI transmitter has the potential to reach 210 million listeners, each one of whom needs the Gospel.
We pray that God would continue to work through the PANI broadcasts to reach many souls, making them aware of the hope that we have in Christ. We also pray for God's protection for those that turn to Christ in repentance, trusting in him for their salvation as those countries are considered some of the worst with regards to persecution of Christians.

On a cheerier note
I am very excited that we have a new brother laboring alongside us. Joseph Umana joined us in June.
He is answering calls from listeners of the Spanish Thru the Bible program, and running the social media accounts for Correr para Ganar (Erwin Lutzer's Running to Win program in Spanish).
He is a wonderful addition to the team, and I am excited to see the different ways in which the Lord will use him here at TWR.

Taking steps in faith
Since I started with TWR in June of 2012, the Spanish Ministry has produced and sold a variety of resources to encourage our listeners in their spiritual development. As of October 1 we have ceased sales of all resources. Instead, we are giving away everything for free!
This is where the exciting steps of faith come in. It's a philosophical, ministerial, practical, and financial shift that is giving us an opportunity to trust that God will provide sufficient funds to be able to generously offer our resources for free.

Thirsting for the Word
Francisco lives in New York. He listens to Thru the Bible in Spanish and sent us this encouraging comment:
"You have been a great blessing in my life, and thanks to your work many people around the world will know about our Redeemer. This program (A Través de la Biblia) has caused in me a thirst for the Word and a continuous spiritual growth.
The studies have removed many doubts from me and have urged me to go deeper into the scriptures. Every day at my lunch hour, I sit in one of the seats on this bus that goes through the entire Bible, and I am excited to know that there will be something new to learn and new uplifting topics to touch on."

In conclusion...
As always, I'd love to tell you more about what is going on in the ministry, or with me and Sean personally. Don’t hesitate to come by or call. We love to have people over for food and fellowship.
Seriously!! Nobody has taken us up on this yet, but we mean it. We discovered a pretty good taco truck the other night. If you want to meet up for an awesome taco treat, let me know!

POINTS OF PRAYER
* Please pray for Joseph that he may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. (Col 1:9.10)
* Please pray that we would be able to provide free resources to as many listeners as want them without concern for cost.
* Please pray for my family and for the Munger family as we mourn the loss of our loved ones.
