Lifetouch Student Picture Retakes
Tuesday, October 26, 2021

Greetings Soaring Heights Families,

We hope this newsletter finds you well and you are enjoying the cooler fall weather. Parent-teacher conferences went smoothly. It was wonderful seeing families in the building and connecting online. Our students have much to be proud of and we thank you for your support and partnership.

Soaring Heights kicked off our school-wide Kindness Campaign. Students have been working on different ways to show kindness, nominating classmates for their acts of kindness, and creating posters and videos to share with the school community.

Please continue to talk with your child about St. Vrain’s Student Code of Conduct. We value our school community and as we continue to RISE through responsibility, Integrity, Service and Excellence we will continue to grow and progress. Please know we are committed to supporting each other and the continued success of Soaring Heights PK-8 students and staff. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to us. We wish everyone a wonderful four day weekend!

Sincerely,
Cyrus Weinberger, Principal
Meghan Quirk, Assistant Principal
Krystal Trinkler, Dean of Students
Matt Romig, Dean of Students

The Behavior Code of Conduct
The Behavior Code of Conduct will be available Monday, August 30th in Infinite Campus. While you are completing the Behavior Code of Conduct in Infinite Campus, please take this opportunity to update student contact information. Also if your living situation has changed and you need assistance, you will be able to submit the McKinney-Vento or Migrant Worker form located in Infinite Campus.

Lifetouch Student Picture Retakes
Tuesday, October 26th
Students will visit the stage during school hours to have their picture retaken.
The EcoEagles is a new club for students at Soaring Heights who care about the environment and want to have a positive impact on our school! This club empowers students to learn about and care for the environment. We will learn about recycling and reducing waste, saving energy, and other topics that are of interest to our club members. This club is open to students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.

Students will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 beginning October 19th. The club will continue through April 26th. Students will meet in the Makerspace afterschool. Please bring an afternoon snack and water bottle. For questions, contact Kate Nelson (nelson_kathryn@svvsd.org) Club Coordinator

Thank you for a terrific start to school year. We are enjoying getting to know your children and are excited to establish new friendships along with our daily routines. We appreciate all of your support.

As communicated over the weekend, Soaring Heights will be adjusting our pick-up and drop-off procedures to address traffic concerns. Below is a short video outlining this new process, two maps for visuals, and some important reminders. This new process will start on Wednesday, August 25.

Important Resources:

Please review the video and important reminders to help things run as smoothly as possible. Thank you in advance for your patience.

  • Please have a sign in your vehicle window (passenger side, front windshield) with your child's FIRST and LAST name, grade, and teacher's name.

  • We will now have two pick-up lines. The drive line in front of the school will be the "Blue Line" and will serve students with last names beginning with letters A-O. Our new drive line will run through the current bus lane and will be the "Yellow Line". It will serve kids with last names beginning with the letters P-Z.

  • Elementary teachers will follow the same process as before, except students will now have two areas to be picked up and bus riders will walk to the new location.

  • If you carpool with other families, please have the carpool driver choose a lane to utilize and stick with that line daily. All students who ride in the carpool will report to that line.

  • Please do not arrive at the school prior to 3:10 pm for afternoon pickup.

  • Please do not park in the staff parking lot; it is for drive through only.

  • After 3:10 pm you can park in the Erie High School bus loop and main parking lot and walk over to pick up your child. Please make sure all of the high school buses have departed prior to you utilizing the high school bus loop.

  • Kindergarten and preschool pickup and drop-off procedures will remain the same.
