Native By Design

Gardeners can pay a crucial role in local biodiversity. Local native plants can sustain life, sequester carbon and manage water. Join author and eco-landscape designer Eileen Stark to learn how to garden with an ecological focus. Topics include utilizing the design principles of native gardening, choosing and arranging plants according to their natural associations and site conditions, and maintaining your garden with wildlife-friendly techniques.

Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls Craft

Celebrate and learn about El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) by decorating a sugar skull. Register when you pick up the bag October 25-27. Then join our Zoom meeting to see how they are made and decorate your own. Ages 11+, adults welcome! Supplies are limited.

Join us this month to discuss Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese.

Marion, fresh out of medical school, flees Ethiopia and makes his way to America, finding refuge in his work as an intern at an underfunded, overcrowded New York City hospital. When the past catches up to him – nearly destroying him – Marion must entrust his life to the two men he thought he trusted least in the world: the surgeon father who abandoned him and the brother who betrayed him.

Family Storytime at Home
Tuesdays | 10:30-11am | Zoom | All Ages

Live interactive storytime on Zoom for kids of all ages and their grown-ups. Learn STEM concepts, kindergarten readiness and pre-reading skills through stories, rhymes, and songs!

Volunteer Opportunities

Hands-on Experience for Computer Science Students
Get hands-on work experience as a volunteer with the library's IT Specialist. Work with patron technology (public computers, kiosks, etc.), making suggestions and assisting with improvements. This work provides the volunteer with experience in Tier 1 troubleshooting basics. Starts in mid-September, 8-10am weekdays, 1-2 mornings per week, minimum three-month commitment. Apply here.
