There's no place like home. Arkansas will spend their next four weeks on The Hill, with their first test being a Homecoming matchup against Auburn. And after having a couple of days to reflect on a shootout in Oxford, the Head Hog has a few tweaks to make for the Tigers.
It's all the Hog news that's fit to print. (Or be posted on a website.)
▶️ QB1: Coach Pitt had more than a few compliments for KJ Jefferson at the beginning of the press conference, saying that QB1 "made some really nice throws" and showed toughness during the game. He's one of the most popular players on the team "because of the way he handles his business and what he does on the football field."
▶️ Make Change: There will be changes coming to the defensive side of the ball after giving up 611 yards and 52 points to Ole Miss: He said the team did not get after Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral as well as he liked and the "secondary support was poor".
▶️ Loud And Clear: Coach Pitt stressed the importance of having a loud, proud home crowd, pointing to how much of an advantage it was in beating Texas and how difficult it was to play at Georgia: "I'm just telling you the football team needs the fans. We need them here on Saturday."
▶️ Early Favorite: With yesterday's announcement that next week's UAPB game would be an 11:00am CT kickoff, this Saturday will mark the third of four straight early kickoffs. And if you think Coach Pittman would rather start later in the day, you'd be wrong. The Head Hog said he likes early games because it gives the team more time to reflect on the game and correct mistakes.
Arkansas returns to practice today in the lead up to their next matchup on Saturday against Auburn. Kickoff is at 11:00am CT on CBS.
