What's Happening at Meyer Vogl

JUNK DRAWER: A Group Exhibition
Through October 22

Junk Drawer is an exhibition about things. For the group show, artists Nancy Hoerter, Glory Day Loflin, Dylan Martinez, Shelby Monteverde, Lori Putnam, and Marissa Vogl, have found inspiration in the random items and objects that catch their attention around the house or along the path of their days – the little nothings that, at just the right moment, are everythings.

THE TEA HOUSE: Melanie Parke Solo Exhibition
November 5 - 26, 2021
Opening reception: Friday, November 5, 5 - 8pm

We're thrilled to host artist Melanie Parke's first solo exhibition at Meyer Vogl Gallery. "Interiors and garden motifs are reconstructed through ideology and memory, from halcyon days spent in island cottages and Roman villas," says Parke. "Flowers, which represent friendships and the women in my life, center most of my work. The presence of birds suggests curiosity and wonder, sometimes allegories of fragility, sometimes euphoria. I’m looking for visual lushness. By alternating tonal moods and vivid ornamentation I aim to convey sensations of consolation, longing and desire."

To request a preview of the work in The Tea House, email katie@meyervogl.com.

MIXTAPE: A Group Exhibition
December 3 - 23, 2021
Opening reception: Friday, December 3, 5 - 8pm

Music and visual art so often intermix, with one inspiring the other – igniting ideas or simply lingering in the background; music often becomes married to memories of creation and how it felt to create.

For the group show Mixtape, we have invited over 20 visual artists to create just one piece of art with one simple requirement: Name the piece after a song. The song could be one that the artist listened to while making the work, a song that evokes strong memories, or simply a song that the artist is currently listening to on repeat.
