Relay competition, Aberfoyle – Saturday 13th November
Junior Relay News from Pippa
Any juniors wishing to join a club team, to compete for the Scottish relay title in one of two age categories, M/W 36- and M/W 44-, should contact Pippa Weir (phweir “at” btinternet.com) before the end of Friday this week.
Each team is to consist of a TD2 leg, a TD3 leg and a TD4 leg (yellow, orange and light green). The club is not providing transport but will arrange your entry and pay half your entry fee. Full details can be seen here:

Please don’t hesitate to contact Pippa if you are at all interested in being part of this.
Senior Relay News from Eddie
It has just come to my notice that FVO are putting on a junior and elite British AND Scottish relay championships on Saturday 13th.
Obviously we have no realistic chance of entering a winning team in the elite class, however we will probably never have a better chance of getting a higher position in the Open British Champs than this short notice northern event.
The area is Fairy Knowe by Aberfoyle. This is a technically very interesting area. Pippa is organising any potential junior teams. If any seniors would like to have a go, let me know THIS WEEK and We'll get a team if 3 are interested - Entries close this weekend. This is the day before the Stirling SOUL for those who are interested in doing that.
Remember that as a major relay, the club will pay half your entry fee (for the relay, not the SOUL). Get in touch with Eddie here eddie (at) go-plus.net
Planning workshops for juniors - message from Lynne Walker
A series of planning workshops is about to start. One of the workshops is 'Developing juniors as planners', this should have maybe been titled 'Juniors - let's do some planning' as it is aimed at M/W 12 to 16 and giving them the basics to plan TD1 through to TD3 courses and a basic understanding of what is involved in being a planner.
The dates for the workshops (via Zoom, 7:30pm to 8:30pm) are 25th November and 2nd December; there is a voluntary pre-workshop session on Condes & Purple Pen (if they need it) on 18th November. The trainers are Donald Grassie & Peter McLuckie. The juniors will need to have access to a laptop / computer which can run Condes (version 9 or 10) or Purple Pen; there will be a planning exercise to be done between 25th Nov and 2nd Dec. Parents are welcome to 'sit in' but they will be silent!!

News about our local Night Cup and 2022 events from Nikki
Northern Night Cup makes a return! Having been in discussions with BASOC and INVOC and after the success of our low key night events during COVID last year we have resurrected the North Night Cup. It will be very low key with no bells and whistles but the results will be monitored and possibly chocolate awarded at the end of the 6 events.
Details will follow shortly on each club website but the outline details are as follows:-

Events for 2022
A proposed list of events for 2022 have been prepared (location of events later in the year depends on 6 days) and now all that is missing is some volunteers to help plan and organise. These events can not take place without volunteers and even those who have never volunteered are encouraged to have a go. All you need to help is to have completed an event safety workshop and we can easy organise one of those for keen. All planners and new organisers are mentored so you will not be without support!
Please contact Nikki on events@mor.scot if you might be able to help before she starts press ganging volunteers!
