After months of planning, we are really excited to be just around the corner from COP26, as it starts this weekend on 31 October.
With two weeks of talks and events, and with nations from around the world joining us here in Glasgow we're really keen to keep you up to date with everything happening at COP26.

The week ahead...
G2030-31 October
The G20 will bring together the world’s major economies in Italy ahead of COP26. Under the Italian Presidency, the G20 will focus on three broad, interconnected pillars of action: People, Planet, Prosperity.
COP26 - After months of planning we are nearly here and from 31 October to 12 November we'll be hosting the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties in Glasgow to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Recent Highlights
Downing Street has been lit up in green by COP26 Principal Partner National Grid to mark our progress towards achieving a clean and reliable electricity system. The installation was built using sustainable and recycled materials and energy-efficient LEDs.
The COP President Designate Alok Sharma has arrived in Glasgow to undertake pre-sessional meetings with negotiating groups ahead of formal start of COP26.
COP26 Principal Partner NatWest has awarded nearly £30,000 to schools from across the UK as part of their MoneySense Climate Savers Top Trumps challenge. The challenge has been encouraging pupils and teachers to think about the role they can play in taking on climate change.
GLOBE International has hosted legislators’ summits coinciding with the Conference of the Parties since it began almost 30 years ago. This year the summit will be in Edinburgh at the Scottish Parliament from 5-6 November with GLOBE co-founders John Kerry & Laurence Tubiana presenting keynote addresses.

COP26 Regional Roadshows will take place during the fortnight of COP26 across the UK and will mirror themes and events in Glasgow, showcasing and celebrating the work local actors are undertaking on the road to Net Zero.
