We want you to have your say about the future of Wairakei Primary School student profiles. Help us shape the direction.
Places are being filled for our FREE community consultation evening! 6-7.30pm Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
This event will be hosted by Education Consultant for 8People and founding director of the New Zealand Graduate School of Education, Kevin Knight - and myself as Wairakei Primary School Principal in conjunction with the Board of Trustees.

Consultation topics include: "What is your vision for the future of education"
- What’s something you especially like about Wairakei Primary School?
- If you were the Minister of Education, what changes do you think should happen in schools?
- Think of the best teacher your child or children ever had at Wairakei, or any other school they may have been to. What did this teacher do that some other teachers didn’t do?
- When someone is training to be a teacher, what do you think they should definitely be able to do before they are allowed to graduate and have their own class?
- How well do you think the teachers at Wairakei School know your child or children?
- When your child or children talk about Wairakei School, what are things they usually talk about?
- Do you have any suggestions for Wairakei Primary School?
A quick reminder
Let your friends, family and neighbours know there are enrolment places available at our school. Get them to email me or ring the office for a visit. We'd love to start a discussion with them as to how they can join us.
Ballot dates for 2022:
For students enrolling in Term 1, 2022 (February 2-April 14) the ballot closes 3p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021 with the ballot taking place on November 12, 2021.
There will be a regular newsletter next week. It will be with satisfaction that I return to writing about the learning that has happened in our wonderful classrooms.
