Sponsorship Grants for Student Science Engagement and International Competitions
The Sponsorship Grants for Student Science Engagement and International Competitions provides funds to sponsor young Australians to take part in STEM activities.
Grants of between $1,500 to $15,000 to sponsor eligible Australian students to participate in:
- In-person and virtual STEM engagement events, activities and competitions hosted in Australia and New Zealand (where permitted by COVID-19 restrictions)
- Virtual STEM engagement events, activities and competitions hosted overseas (students to participate remotely from Australia).
The grant amount will be up to 100% of eligible project costs. Eligible groups include schools, incorporated not for profit organisations, and entities incorporated in Australia applying on behalf of a student or a group of students. Applications close 25 January 2022. Find out more here.

Run with the Megafauna in Naracoorte this November
The Heritage Trail Run at the World Heritage Naracoorte Caves National Park returns for 2021 as part of MegaFest, providing a timely boost for tourism in the Limestone Coast.
To be held on 14 November, the event caters for everyone, with participants choosing from the 23km Mega Fauna Run, 15km Stoney Point Run, 5km Dippy Run and the 1km Fossil Dash.

Nature‐Based Tourism Small Grants Program
$550,000 in funding is available to support tourism experiences in South Australia’s nature and heritage places.
Grants from $2000 - $15,000 are available for small-scale and innovative projects to support nature-based tourism activation in South Australia’s national parks, gardens, reserves, reservoirs and Crown Land. This could include creating new or enhancing existing tourism experiences including seasonal or pop-up experiences, as well as tourism/regional events in parks and public places.
This Small Grants program will provide funding to get ideas off the ground, without the need to provide matching cash funds.

Heritage Tourism Grants Program
Grants of up to $50,000, provided on a matched funding basis, will support projects that enable the activation and use of State or Local heritage-listed places or State Heritage Areas for tourism purposes.
Projects do not have to be directly connected to the physical conservation of heritage fabric or values. The program is a key initiative of Growing Our Heritage Future, the State Government’s 10-year strategy for heritage tourism.

The $3 million Live Music Support Program offers funding through two categories for dedicated live music venues, music specific event promoters and professional touring artists and crew, to support them to resume live music activity once national and international borders re-open.
This will help to ensure the live music industry will be ready to host live music again post-pandemic.

Australia Day 2022 Community Grants
National Australia Day Council’s (NADC) Australia Day 2022 Community Events Grants program are now open, and to encourage you to apply for up to $30,000 to deliver an event that gives your community the opportunity to reflect, respect and celebrate on Australia Day.
Australia Day event hosts can apply for up to $20,000 to deliver events that use the National Australia Day Council’s branding ‘Reflect. Respect. Celebrate. We’re all part of the story.’ Applicants that collaborate with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to incorporate activities that reflect and respect the history of local indigenous people and celebrate their culture will be eligible to apply for an additional $10,000.

Farm Hand
Mount Schanck Station (SA)
Mount Schanck farm forms part of the agricultural division of Thomas Foods International (TFI), one of Australia’s largest family-owned food businesses since 1988. Mount Schanck is a premier 2,000 cattle and 15,000 sheep grazing property with excellent facilities and infrastructure on the idyllic Limestone Coast in South Australia, a key operation for growing, supplying, and distributing premium meat to the world.
About the role
TFI are currently seeking a Farm Hand to join their close-knit team in an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity only 15 minutes outside of Mount Gambier township. The position involves all aspects of a mixed grazing, large-scale farming business.
Some duties of the role will include:
- General farm labour
- High stocking rate, rotational grazing high input, high output farm system
- 16 centre pivots growing winter and summer crops
- Majority of machinery and equipment onsite to perform most jobs unless contracted out
Skills and experience
- Experience in general farming practices or exposure to the agricultural industry is preferred, but not essential.
