North Carolina local governments are expected to receive $394 million in sales tax distributions, a 20% increase statewide compared to last year. November 2021 distributions reflect August 2021 sales. The increase in distributions includes $65 million more in local sales tax revenue compared to the same month last year, when the economic impact was already rebounding.

Thanks very much to the NC Department of Revenue for sharing these sales tax estimates as soon as possible to help with budgeting purposes.
