B.I.G. Service of Thanksgiving

The Bethlehem Interfaith Group (BIG) offers “A Service of Thanksgiving,” on Sunday, November 14 at 4pm EST. It will be offered in-person at Central Moravian Church, 73 W. Church St., Bethlehem. Everyone is welcome to attend. It will also be available to livestream via YouTube at http://bit.ly/2Z5M9Aj.

The service will include music, readings, prayer, and interactive responses. Rev. Madelyn Campbell of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley will offer the meditation, and the choir from St. John AME Church and the Lehigh University Glee Club are scheduled to provide musical selections.

The Covid-19 protocols of the host church, Central Moravian, will be in place: all attendees must correctly wear a mask, and sign in upon arrival, for contact tracing purposes.

The offering during the service will benefit New Bethany Ministries, an interfaith, non-profit organization with its main location in Southside Bethlehem. Its staff, along with over 900 volunteers, spent more than 20,824 hours serving their neighbors in the past year. They mobilize community partnerships, relying heavily on volunteers, to impact almost 9,000 people annually.

BIG was formed in 2017 when local faith leaders recognized the importance of providing a different kind of vision, where people of diverse faith backgrounds could foster dialogue and seek common ground. The group’s focus is on education, justice and friendship.
