New Devotion Series: I see you!
We are starting a new series today all about being aware of the people around us.

God creates, knows, loves, and sees all of us in our full humanity. But as people, we can fall into the habit of assuming everyone is the same or everyone is like us. While we share a common humanity, these assumptions can be harmful and prevent us from truly seeing other people and listening to their perspectives. By looking at Biblical stories, this series will help us learn how to listen to, respect, affirm, and act for and with others. In doing so, we can also come to know God even more fully.

If you would like to join me for Tuesday morning prayer at 9 am, please follow the link below to the ZOOM.US meeting invite. I hope to see you there.

This week we start a new series titled 'I see you!' This first week is about hearing the voice of others around you.

Week one takes a look at the events outside of Jericho when Jesus and Bartomeus encounter each other. Join along in reading Mark 10:46-52.

Chorus
God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength
For each new day
He will make a way
He will make a way

Verse
By a roadway in the wilderness He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today

Questions for Week 1

  1. What voices are we as a church not hearing or are resistant to hearing?
  2. How would our church be different if we listened to those voices?
  3. How can we as a church be more intentional about hearing the voices on the road?
  4. How would our church communities and ministries change if we incorporated these voices?
  5. In light of our encounter with Jesus, how is God calling us to make space for others as a church, community and world?
  6. This week think of one or two ways to become more aware of the voices on the side of the road and how we can create space for them.
